
Pragati Vigyan Sanstha, Meerut 1. Installed a Science Fair cum Exhibition at Nauchandi Mela 2017- A Regional Fair in the month of April 2017 For 21 days A Science Fair cum exhibition was organized for common masses and science enthusiasts in the months of April to May 2017 in “Nauchandi Mela”- A Regional/Local Fair. Various science activities like Low-cost teaching aids, Origami & mathematics, Science behind miracles, Food Adulteration, Water Testing, etc. were showcased at the exhibition. Regular visits from state and district officials were made for review and encouraging students for taking up science subjects. Various competitions and quizzes like Science Model Exhibition, Essay Writing competitions, Slogan writing competitions etc. were organized for school students on the daily basis and winners were awarded. Various other engaging activities like Nukkad Natak, Science Storytelling, and Science Poem Recitation were also organized for spreading science awareness in local folks and non-scientific audience and visitors. Regular visits from different schools and colleges was also organized for vast outreach and awareness. Common masses and teachers also benefited from the programme. The Science Fair-cum-Exhibition was organized for 21 days and had a footfall of around 5000 people per day.
2. Regional Workshop for Eco-Brick Making on the occasion of World Environment Day 2020 (2-6 June) On the occasion of World Environment Day and Annual Day celebration of the organization, a local/ regional workshop was organized on Eco-Brick making. The Workshop was attended by young enthusiastic students, innovators, and common masses of the area. The Four day workshop was organized at Vigyan Ghar. The Eco-Bricks were made of the non-biodegradable wastes like plastics, etc. and other traditional house- building materials like mud, etc. These types of eco-bricks posed minimum threat to the environment and were economical in manufacturing. The baking of these bricks was also simplified by traditional processes of house-building processes. In the workshop, around 78 people were trained which had a multiplier effect when they implemented them in their communities.
3. Organized Vigyan Ghar Season 2 (15-25 June 2017) The Flagship programme of the organization is a Science-based Reality show “Vigyan Ghar”. It is a programme based on the concept of the famous reality show “Big Boss”, where the participants live in an isolated house and have to perform a daily task. Similarly, students selected from across the country through the other programmes of the organization participate in the show, where they are isolated form any kind of human or world interaction, even without internet and other telecommunication connections. The Secretary of the organization, Mr Deepak Sharma, is the mind behind this show and act as “Vigyan Guru” in the show. The only interaction that the students have is through Vigyan Guru. Tasks are also assigned and conceptualized by Vigyan Guru. The whole programme and show is telecasted live on the organization’s Science Channel “Vigyan Aao Karke Sikahen”. Various renowned science teachers and lecturers are assigned tasks for evaluation of the candidates and every day a motivational guest meets the candidates in the Vigyan Ghar. Through this, students are encouraged to come up with genuine and indigenous scientific solutions to every-day problems. Winners are declared at the end of the ten day competition by the jury.
4. Two-day Awareness Programme on Biodegradable Waste (September 2017) An Awareness Programme on Biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste was organized for two days in the month of September 2017. The programme was organized at Vigyan Kendra situated at Bijli Bamba Bypass, Meerut. Science Exhibition, presentations on Low-cost teaching aids, science behind miracles, etc. and various competitions and quizzes were organized for engaging students and local masses of the area. Nukad Natak was also organized for awareness and engagement among the local and non-scientific masses. The awareness programme had a footfall of around 135 people.
5. Awareness Programme on Science Behind Miracles The so-called “God men” can be found in almost every community and religion who cheat the common man in the name of magic and religion. To aware the local public and other non-scientific masses about the science behind the so-called miracles, awareness programmes were organized in the month of October 2017 and January 2018 in various primary and secondary schools across the district of Meerut. The programmes were attended by school and college students and teachers and also the general public of the region. The villages covered were rachodi, satwai, pawarsa of the district of Meerut. It had a direct reach of around 200 people per programme.
6. Celebration of Sir CV Raman Birth Anniversary (November 2017) On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the great physicist and Nobel Laureate Sir C V Raman, a science fair cum exhibition was organized for three days at Ved international School, Meerut. The scientific contributions and personal achievements of the scientist were discussed in the programme. Various quizzes and competitions, science model exhibitions, debate and essay writing competitions were also organized for the various school students, college students and teachers and general public. Total footfall of the programme was around 300 people.
7. Science Visit A Science visit for school and college students and teachers was organized in the month of December 2017. Narora Atomic Power Plant situated near Bulandshehar and National Science center, Delhi were amongst the places of visits. The visit not only increased the interest of students towards science but also encouraged them to take up science careers. The scientific officials who educated the students during the programme also inspired them. Every visit had around 50 school and college students and teachers from various schools and colleges of Meerut.
8. National Science Day 2018 Celebration National Science Day 2018 was celebrated by the organization at an awareness programme organized at Ved International School, Meerut and Vidya international School, Meerut for two different days. Various renowned science teachers, lectures and other officials were invited for delivering motivational and inspirational lectures on the occasion. The students and teachers participated with great enthusiasm in various competitions and quizzes that were organized in the programme.

1. Sky-watching and Mobile Planetarium program (April 2018) To increase the interests of students and teachers in the area of astronomy and astrophysics, Sky-watching and Mobile Planetarium Programme was organized in different schools and colleges in the Meerut district. The programme educated the participants about the various constellations, planets, galaxies, origin of the universe and various other important astronomical events. The Mobile planetarium was taken very well by the participants as it projected the reality and took them to a journey into space. The programme also inspired the teachers and mentors to teach students in various innovative ways. Around 1000 people visited the planetarium every day. 2. 3. Participation in Science Mela The organization was invited to setup a stall at the Science Fair cum Exhibition. The activities that were presented were low-cost teaching aids, fun with mathematics, food adulteration, water testing, science behind miracles and hydro-rocket making and launching. Various places of Kotdwar, Uttarakhand were covered from 7-9 May and 15- 17 May 2018.
4. Sky-watching Campaign The organization specializes in organizing sky-watching programmes on major astronomical and other important scientific days. In the month of September and October 2018, various sky-watching and training programmes were organized in different schools across the districts of Meerut and Ghaziabad. On 25 September, sky watching programme was organized in Royal Kids School, Rajnagar Ghaziabad. The programme was well taken by the space enthusiastic students and teachers. Another programme on 13 October 2018 was organized in Vedantic School, Baghpat. The local people were amazed to see the celestial objects in great details.
5. Participated in MTNL Perfect Health Mela 2018 The organization participated in the Perfect Health Mela 2018 organized by Heart Care foundation of India from 25-28 October 2018. The activities that were presented were low-cost teaching aids, fun with mathematics, food adulteration, water testing, science behind miracles and hydro-rocket making and launching.

7. Makdumpur Mela 2018 A three day science fair cum exhibition was organized by the organization in the month of November 2018 on the occasion of Ganga Snan. The stall was inaugurated by the District Magistrate of Meerut District and other government officials visited and interacted directly with the resource persons. Various competitions and quizzes were also organized for popularizing sciences amongst the common masses. The activities that were presented were low-cost teaching aids, fun with mathematics, food adulteration, water testing, science behind miracles and hydro-rocket making and launching. The programme had a footfall of around 1000 people per day.
8. Science Visit A Science visit for school and college students and teachers was organized in the month of December 2018. Sport industries located around Meerut and Air force Station in Delhi were amongst the places of visits. The visit not only increased the interest of students towards science but also encouraged them to take up science careers. The scientific officials who educated the students during the programme also inspired them. Every visit had around 50 school and college students and teachers from various schools and colleges of Meerut.
9. Teacher Training Programme The organization organizes a teacher training programme for selected 20 science teachers from across the primary and secondary schools of the neighboring region. These programmes are aimed at training them into future resource persons. Various activities are presented in the programme. The teachers can take up activities of their interests.

1. Participated in a Science Fair at Satpuli, Kotdwar, Uttarakhand The organization was invited to setup a stall at the Science Fair cum Exhibition organized at Satpuli, Uttarakahand. The activities that were presented were low-cost teaching aids, fun with mathematics, and hydro-rocket making and launching. The programme received an over-whelming response from the general public, school and college students and teachers.
2. Participated in MTNL Perfect Health Mela 2019 The organization participated in the Perfect Health Mela 2019 organized by Heart Care foundation of India from 16-20 October 2018. The activities that were presented were low-cost teaching aids, fun with mathematics, food adulteration, water testing, science behind miracles and hydro-rocket making and launching.
3. Live Telecast of Solar Eclipse 2020 Live Telecast of the Solar Eclipse in the month of January 2020 was done on the Science Channel “Vigyan Aao Krke Sikhen”. The telecast included the views of the eclipse form various cities and locations of the country. Experts’ discussions and live commentary was also organized on the channel. The general public also had a chance to view the eclipse with the solar telescope.
4. Monthly Magazine titled “Vigyan Aao Krke Sikhen” The organization publishes a monthly science magazine titled “Vigyan Aao Krke Sikhen” since 2015. The articles and science stories which are publishes are collected from science writers, students, teachers and scientists across the nation. Independent publication number and copyright are with the organization for this purpose.
5. Stated a Science Channel named “Vigyan Aao Krke Sikhen” The organization has also started a web based and you tube channel under the name of “Vigyan Aao Krke Sikhen” since 2017. It is continuously running live since 2017. Interviews and videos based on science and science based events are covered live or premiered on the channel. The channel has a viewership of about 1000 views per day and has around 16K subscribers
