The organization was started by a group of science enthusiastic students in 1984 as a vision to change the society’s perspective of science and develop scientific temperament in the society. They worked towards making science easy to comprehend for better understanding by the society and to encourage the society to see the world through the scientific lens. However, the organization was formally registered on 4th June 2009 by the then Mayor of Meerut, Ms. Kamini Ratan Chauhan. She was impressed by the kind of work the organization had been doing and wanted to make it the culture of the city. After the formal registration in 2009, the organization has come a long way from conducting science awareness programs to hosting a number of science events.
The organization has been hosting a science based web channel by the name “Vigyan Aao Karke Sikhen” since 2013. The channel is running live 24×7 since 2016. It features various science based documentaries, films, hosts live science events, interviews of famous scientists and educationists and broadcasts the live science events and news from around the world. The channel has 12K+ subscribers and has the viewership of around 1000 per day.
The organization has also been publishing a monthly magazine with the name “Vigyan Aao Karke Sikhen” since 2015. The magazine features articles on science based information and researches from authors around the country. The magazine has the subscription base of more than 1000 readers countrywide.
Another unique and characteristic product of organization is the World’s First Science Based Reality Show – “Vigyan Ghar”. The show houses the most creative students selected from across the country who are put together to solve the nation’s problems with the scientific outlook. Besides these, the organization has been closely working with the Council of Science and Technology Uttar Pradesh and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India from past 30 years. Organization has also trained around 200 resource persons who have performed at National and State levels cross the country. We have been participating in India International Science festival since its conception and Indian Science Congress. Organization was also awarded with “Rajendra Prabhu Memorial award for science popularization 2020” Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for its outstanding work in Science communication popularization and extension activities.
